Wedding: Jenah & Phil

Wedding: Jenah & Phil

September 28, 2011 |  by  |  Bride, Wedding

As a photographer it is always exciting to travel somewhere new for a wedding and last weekend it was off to Coonamble, about 150km north west of Dubbo for a country wedding. There is something special about country people that often has me thinking it would be great to have spent some time out here growing up.

The wedding was just lovely although I was a little concerned at the start after arriving at a property to meet the guys for a few snaps to find the place deserted. I called Phil to check I was at the right place and he let me know he was at least 30min away and no way was he getting into a suit this early it was too stinkin’ hot for that!

Fair enough – it was his day so instead of photos it was a couple of drinks, a steak sanga and some stories with his uncle and mates. The girls were running just as late but somehow we all made it to the most gorgeous white timber church in time.

Following a lovely ceremony and some family photos we headed around town to an old railway station, some silos and into a field of oats with some very inquisitive cattle. The light was gorgeous and everyone had a terrific time.

The reception room was simply stunning and a credit to Jenah – the decorating, candles, cake were all just spectacular. With short but heartfelt speeches it was onto the dancing, drinking, laughter and good times into the night.

Congratulations guys, hope you enjoy the small sample of your photos below.

See you soon.

Jenah putting the final touches on the reception slideshow while having her hair done.

Too stinkin' hot for suits so it was a few casual snaps instead.

Straight from a fairytale - I love this image.

Jenah is escorted down the aisle by her dad and little brother.

The little details and decorations that went into the day didn't go unnoticed by anyone.

It's official!

Afternoon light, a gorgeous bride, a stunning gown - it wasn't a tough shoot.

The old deserted railway station, straight from an old western film set.

The purple shoes with 'bling' were a hit with all the girls.

Never have I experience a shoot like this with cattle just so close! My favourite images of the day.
