I love shoots where there is room to get creative and I get to work with creative people at the same time, which was the case at Zapp’s Hair Studio in Umina earlier this week.
The studio is looking to update some of their salon posters and the idea of the shoot was born when Rick, Zapp’s owner, decided to encourage two of the salon’s stylists to organise models, makeup, fashion and hair styling for the shoot. A few concepts were thrown around before they settled on a “street” feel.
I arrived to see the models receiving their finishing touches and shortly after we were off and shooting not more than fifty metres from the salon with a range of different backgrounds.
We all had a ball at the shoot and it wasn’t long after starting that the models were into the swing of the shoot, the stylists were directing poses, jumping in with hairspray and brushes and we were stopping traffic in the main street of Umina.
Big thanks have to go out to:
Model Joey Watson, styled by Jess Cousins
Model Sally Brooks, styled by Ashley Thrussell
Model/Fashion accessory Leon Franco
Make Up Artist Sally Brooks
Thanks everyone for a great shoot, can’t wait to see the images up in the salon! Below are a few of my favourites from the afternoon.
